Stethoscope and medical notes, standing in for community health work

2018

A community comes together for healthcare

As previously reported by Divine Providence Training Center, a medical camp in Matasia involved Kenyan physicians, a pharmacist, and a nutritionist serving children and adults.

The camp was described as offering general medical consultations, malaria testing, HIV testing, blood sugar testing, deworming, screening, eye and ear evaluations, nutrition counselling, rehabilitation, and medication.

These details are historical. CTLI has not yet confirmed whether similar clinics remain active, so this story is told as a past example of community health work — not as a current statistic.

Building access to clean water

Indexed CTLI and DPTC pages describe a water purification project intended to treat sediment, contaminants, bacteria, and mineral buildup so the center could provide cleaner water on site.

Friends of DPTC later published disbursements for water equipment repair, Living Water mission teams, and water kiosk expansion. Those records are dated 2023–2025 and still require confirmation as a current public impact claim.

Until CTLI verifies present operations, this is presented as a project story: clean water at the training center, with the hope of community distribution.

Historical

Learning new ways to grow food

CTLI’s gardening materials describe conservation agriculture, greenhouse and hydroponic growing, urban gardens, and medicinal and nutritional plants such as Artemisia and Moringa.

The model was to exhibit methods at Camp Chemi Chemi, educate neighbors, enable people to reproduce gardens, and employ community members in the center’s own production.

This remains a core E⁴ example. Whether each method is currently in operation should be confirmed with CTLI.
