Philip Patiwan Parnyamalo: Called to Transform a Community

Pastor, Light Tabernacle International Ministries

My name is Pastor Philip Patiwan Parnyamalo, and I serve with Light Tabernacle International Ministries under Bishop Benson. I pastor a church in Ewaso Kedong, where our ministry is working to bring hope and transformation to the community.

There are many people in the area struggling with alcohol and prostitution. As a church, we are doing our best to reach them through preaching, teaching and inviting them into the church community.

We are already seeing lives change. People who once struggled with drinking have left alcohol behind and become part of the church. Their changed lives are a testimony to us and an encouragement to continue the work we are doing.

My training at Divine Providence Training Center (DPTC) has broadened my knowledge and strengthened my ability to serve. Since becoming a student, I have been able to take what I am learning back to my church, and I can see the difference that knowledge is making in my ministry.

I come from a pastoralist community, and my prayer for the years ahead is to use the education I receive at DPTC to reach more of my community. I want people to grow in their understanding of Christianity, to know Christ and to work together to bring positive change to our community.

I am thankful for the opportunity to learn and for what God is already doing through our ministry.
